You’ll see that you have a variety of places to choose from, depending on your budget, your taste or your needs. You can stay at hotels, pensions, hostels or even camping-parks. It’s your decision. But for those who didn’t plan a trip yet in this town and they are willing to do it, I can help you make an impression about the local accommodation places. Therefore, here some information about where to stay in Coimbra:

Hotel Quinta das Lagrimas Relais & Chateaux

This 4-star hotel is a member of the well-known chain Relais&Chateaux. Firstly, it will impress you by its location, being situated in a medieval historical palace. However, the prices match perfectly with the location. They are quite high, but you decide even it worth or not. The accommodation offers three different room types: the Palace rooms, the Garden rooms or the Spa guestrooms. They are special in their unique way. For example, in the Palace stayed also the Duke of Wellington and the King Miguel of Portugal, from the Garden rooms you can see the botanical garden and the Spa offers a great view of the Quinta’s woods and Coimbra. These rooms include too a hydrotherapy bath. Hotel Quinta das Lagrimas Relais & Chateaux provides for its clients one great restaurant, where they can serve local dishes and wines from the cellar. You should know that the food is made with traditional ingredients of this region. The staff of the hotel is very professional and it offers great services, therefore you’ll not be disappointed from this point of view. As a minus, there is no WI-FI connection in the rooms, only in the lobby, and the hotel is situated a little bit far from the historical centre of Coimbra.

Another beautiful accommodation place is the 4-star hotel Vila Gale Coimbra. It is situated 15 minutes walking from the center of the town and less than 10 minutes walking from the Coimbra Railway Station. The rooms are very nice decorated and very clean and the staff is highly professional. Also, a breakfast buffet is served each day for the clients. They can eat both local and international dishes and they can choose from a variety of drinks. The hotel offers also a spa, where you can take relaxing massages or beauty treatments, and a beautiful pool. If you are more into internet and computers, you should know that the WI-FI is available in public areas.

As you can see, you have where to stay in Coimbra. And you should be aware that I presented you only two accommodation places, there are much more that worth to be mentioned.
