At Pico you can dive into the deep blue sea and explore the volcanic rocks or just stay dry in the boat or shore and catch all kinds of fish species. Sadly the beaches of Pico are not sandy but if you like swimming we recommend you the natural pools which were formed by volcanic rocks over the years. Do you like boats? How about sailing? At Pico you can go on a sailing trip and admire the beauty of the island from afar and also visit the surrounding islands of São Jorge or Faial. Climbing is another sport which can be practiced on the island. If you like a challenge we suggest you head towards Pico itself and as you reach the summit take a look around and admire the view of the other islands in the neighborhood. On might also want to reach it before sunrise as the experience of a sunrise from Pico is unforgettable.
