Most of these courses were designed by famous architects such as Rocky Roquemore, Arnold Palmer and Henry Cotton. Try the all the courses from the easy ones to the rough and hard ones. There are difficulty levels for beginners as much as for old-timers. Enjoy a pleasant game in Algarve with your mates in a lovely weather with the ocean in the background.

Golf wonderland

One may ask why Algarve has become the most wanted golfing destination on the European continent. The answer is simple: the region’s climate and surroundings make a perfect match. There is approximately 3.000 hours of sunshine in Algarve every year thus it is the most ideal location for golfing. You can choose from ocean courses, royal courses and many others in Vale de Lobo or go to Lagos and golf next to the Ria Formosa Nature Park.

Golf and scenery

The most recently opened courses in the Algarve region are in the eastern side. The Castro Marim course is located near the Guadiana River which follows the contours of the terrain and is decorated with beautiful lakes, fig trees, cork oaks, olive trees and others. Be careful though, for the magnificent scenery might distract you from your game.

Golf courses of central Algarve

The golf courses of Algarve are carefully maintained and as it was mentioned before they have breathtaking views in the background which make every visitor and player feel like a professional golfer. Try the Pinheiros Altos course which is located near the national park and has two sets of nine holes. One is built on dunes and decorated with pine trees while the other is shorter and is dotted with several lakes.

For an aquatic scenery choose the Ocean course at Vale de Lobo which is also adorned with eucalyptus, olive trees, pine trees and orange trees. For beginners we recommend the Millennium course which has large green areas giving the opportunity to get the hang of this magnificent and relaxing sport. After a pleasant game visit the clubhouse and rest next to a cold beverage.
